The company, located in the Tuscan countryside, was founded by the grandfather of the current owner and designer, and began in 1920 with the production of traditional Florentine straw hats.
After the war, around 1950, the business shifted from hat production to the creation of women’s straw and natural fabric bags. In the 1960s, during the economic boom, the company expanded its exports to major European and American (USA) department stores, reaching its peak in the late 1960s with the production of 2 million handmade bags annually.
With the arrival of the third generation, the company was fully modernized and began participating in internationally renowned trade fairs and exhibitions, such as MIPEL in Milan and PREMIERE CLASSE in Paris. The company also started offering winter collections (until then, it had only produced summer items year-round).
Flexibility, the ability to adapt and transform according to the new market demands, attention to customer needs, as well as innovation in materials, accessories, colors, and quality, are its key strengths. The current owner’s inspirations for creating the collections are drawn from the photography yearbooks of the 1960s and 1970s, created by her father. For the current collection, featured in your department stores, the inspiration stems from a deep passion for traditional manual techniques (knitting, braiding, crochet). The recurring element is wool in various weights, colors, and styles.
In addition to bags, the company also produces coordinating accessories such as gloves, scarves, hats, necklaces, and bracelets.
